Governor of Lemhannas RI, Prof. Dr. Budi Susilo Soepandji, D.E.A. attended a workshop presented by National Air Defense Command as the speaker on Tuesday (7/2/12) in order to commemorate National Air Defense Command’s 50th Anniversary at Persada, Halim PK.
The event which was held under a theme of “Development Strategy of National Air Defense Command’s Next Steps” was attended by Director of Human Resources of Marsma TNI Defense University, Suparman Djapri, and Panglima Komando of National Air Defense Sector III, Marsma TNI Bonar Hutagaol.
“Military Air Defense Radar and Civil Flight Radar need to be integrated in order to do Air Defense Operation.” Stated Governor of Lemhannas when presenting his paper at the workshop.
In addition, Governor of Lemhannas said that Civil Flight Radar Network which had been procured in some regions can cover the gaps in the regions which can’t be reached by Military Air Defense Radar, so we need to integrate both.
In this case, we need to empower national capacity and all infrastructures to collaborate with air defense system managed by National Air Defense Command, which is stated in an accountable standard operating procedure.
Governor of Lemhannas RI hoped that there will be good Ad hoc cooperation across sectors between Ministry of Defense and related Institutes to connect some interests, while waiting for regulations of law related to national resources transformation in the scope of state defense. However, in empowering national capacity to enhance the performance, national air defense command can build air defense power through its roles and capacities as support provider component.
“These roles and capacities can be gained through defense industry revitalization to develop and create air defense Alutsista. The plan was executed juridically through President’s policy in President’s Policy Number: 41 Year 2010 about State Defense Public Policy, which was under President’s Policy Number: 42 Year 2010 about Defense Industry Policy Committee,“ he stated when concluding his paper.
